Paleo Challenge: Day 21 Check in

I have now been 100% paleo for a full 3 weeks. This is probably the longest I have ever gone without cheating on my diet. This week wasn’t very difficult, I didn’t have any big issues with wanting to cheat because I didn’t do any excessive drinking in the past week.

The one thing I wasn’t proud of this week was on Wednesday I drank a diet soda. I was tired and on a long drive and needed some caffeine. I had not thought about whether diet soda is ok or not for my challenge because I stopped drinking diet soda when I found out how bad artificial sweetener is for you. I admit I felt pretty dirty when I was drinking it but I think being drowsy behind the wheel is more dangerous to my body than a little diet soda.

My goal from last week was to drop down to 169.5 pounds from 171.5. This week I failed to make my goal, but I did drop a half a pound. I though I would have done pretty well this week since I did a lot of intermittent fasting this week. I even did a 24 hour fast. Some of the issues that have help me back from dropping the weight I want was that I skipped the gym 3 days this week. I also was pretty bad and ate an entire 8 ounce container of cashews in a 24 hour period. That is 1600 calories I did not need.

My goal for this week is to get to that 169.5 pounds that I originally wanted to do. I also want to be sure to go to the gym 6 out of 7 days this week.

  1. I’m glad that you put safety of others first and drank that caffeine! Being sleepy behind the wheel is SO scary.

    I’m also glad to hear that Paleo is going well for you 🙂
